EFCO's portable and stationary grinding machines for valves are suitable for a wide variety of sealing surfaces, valves and housings.
Our grinding machines can be used to smooth surfaces on fittings. One important area is face lapping. It is used to reduce the surface roughness of flanges with unbound cutting grit, while our grinding machines work with a firmly bound abrasive grit. With the lapping machines you can achieve very high surface qualities with shape and dimensional tolerances of a few micrometers.
Portable grinding machines
Portable lapping and grinding machines are above all required for grinding and lapping valves. They ensure flat sealing surfaces in valves as well as on valve discs and flanges. Our mobile grinding machines are characterized by their convincing concept: They are easy to operate and low-wear with a very favorable price-performance ratio. You will achieve high efficiency and profitability with these lapping and grinding machines. The drives work electrically (with 230 or 120 V and 50/60 Hz) or pneumatically.
Portable gate valve grinding machines
Portable gate valve grinding machines (SL) are used for lapping and grinding sealing surfaces on gate valves, check valves and flanges. You can optionally order these machines with a digital rocker for precise regulation of the contact pressure. This is a patented unit that guarantees absolutely flat sealing surfaces. The result can always be reproduced. Another additional part for the gate valve grinding machines is the Swing-Check adapter. It enables the machining of sealing surfaces on check valves with a very large angle of inclination. If you need to machine hard sealing surfaces, choose our portable high-speed gate valve grinding machine, which uses powered spindles to machine the material extremely quickly and effectively. You can order this option as a retrofit for your machines (SLA) or as a complete system (HSL). The machines can be quickly assembled and disassembled with the help of a specially developed clamping block.
Stationary grinding machines
Our stationary grinding machines are best suited for workshops, but they can also be used on site. The grinding table (KS) is suitable for surface grinding of valve plates, slide wedges and other machine parts. You equip your aluminium grinding plate with self-adhesive abrasive paper discs. Due to the fixed stop you achieve an excellent workpiece guidance. Our SM-series is characterized in particular by their stable and robust design as well as a compact and modular machine concept. The retrofitting of a second table is possible at any time.
Grinding machines for lens seats
If you need to grind metal pipe ends with lens seals 140° (according to DIN 2696 and BASF), we offer transportable grinding machines for this purpose. They can be centered very quickly, which leads to high-quality repair results with high work efficiency. You can use these electrically or pneumatically operated grinding machines according to DN 8-DN 200 (1/4"-8").
Grinding machines for grinding conical sealing surfaces
We also offer mobile machines with special tools for grinding conical sealing surfaces. Such sealing surfaces are found in shut-off, high-pressure and control valves. Angles between 30° and 90° can be ground with our grinding machines. If you want to grind other seat angles, please contact us.
Grinding machines for safety valves
With the EFCO TSV we offer a transportable lapping and grinding machine with eccentric. You can use it to machine the sealing surfaces in safety valves. The EFCO TSV has two separate drives for the absolutely flat sealing surface with a crossing grinding pattern.
Concrete application example of our grinding machines
Our grinding machines are used, among other things, where the tightness of valve surfaces is important. With grinding and lapping, you achieve smooth surfaces that lead to a tight seal of the valve even at high pressures and temperatures as well as with all media. This is essential in the high-pressure sector, for example in power stations or in the chemical industry.
